August 16th, 2009 Katukinas
Continue to pray for our standing among the Katukina people as far as the leadership is concerned. We have heard nothing more about them wanting to forbid us from going into their villages, but we know that they would like nothing more than to do that.
Pray for the believers as they continue to hear God’s Word, that it would communicate clearly across the boundaries of language and culture and touch them effectively in a way as to supplant the false worldview with a biblical worldview.
As the dry season has come, the road crews are now living at a camp close to our house. They are enjoying going to the village on weekends for dancing parties with a lot of drunkenness. This has a potential for a lot of problems, not to mention the problems that the alcohol and immorality practiced bring to the young tribal people. Pray that Satan would not have a free hand among the younger generation.
