Me (Skot)

This last week I had the blessing of catching the flu that’s going around. Wow, talk about fun. I felt like a rag doll for about 4 days, then just felt real weak. This meant, of course, that there were no meetings in the villages or even medical treatment, as I’m the only missionary here that speaks the language and can drive. Pray for God’s strength to continue on steady in the work here, as well as for my coworker Robson to get his driver’s license. It’s a LONG and EXPENSIVE process here in Brazil, but something that is a big necessity for our work. Imagine if you had no church every time your pastor came down with the flu!

Pray for me as I prepare for the lessons at the village each week, as I try to make them speak both to the believers and the unbelievers (both of which are at the meetings) in a practical, down-to-earth (and down-to-their-culture) way.

Pray that I will be refreshed daily in God’s Spirit, that I do this work in God’s power, and not my own.
